BIOGRAPHY:

A collaborative artist team since 1998, Bradley McCallum and Jacqueline Tarry have worked and exhibited globally, seeking to surface and discuss issues revolving around marginalized members of society. Their work, which moves fluidly between large-scale public projects, performative sculpture, painting, photography, video and self-portraiture, challenges audiences to face issues of race and social justice in communities, history, and the family. Embedded within their work, whether it is of an historical, personal, or civic-based nature, is their standing as an interracial couple.

The artists are represented by Caren Golden Fine Art in New York, Nichido Contemporary Art in Tokyo, and F2 Gallery in Beijing. Recent shows have included installation in the New York Historical Society’s group exhibition, Legacies: Contemporary Artists Reflect on Slavery. Solo shows at Caren Golden Fine Arts in New York City, Kinkaid Contemporary in Los Angeles, and Atlanta’s Kiang Gallery. McCallum and Tarry have been commissioned to complete the Malcolm X memorial for the intersection of New York’s Central Park and Malcolm X Boulevard.

McCallum holds an MFA from Yale, and Tarry completed the Whitney ISP program in 2003.

The couple lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.

La galerie Nordine Zidoun propose une politique artistique originale et peu commune, puisque essentiellement centrée sur la scène émergente américaine. Beaucoup des artistes choisis par la galerie sont donc de jeunes talents travaillant à New York principalement. Alors que certains d’entre eux ont déjà un début de reconnaissance aux Etats-Unis, ils n’ont encore que peu ou pas de visibilité en Europe et cette étape représente donc une ouverture importante vers le vieux continent. L’exposition inaugurale propose des œuvres de McCallum & Tarry, Jeremy Wagner, Franck Brunner, Patrick McKinney et Michael Ray Charles. La galerie présente aussi le travail des artistes Adam Parker Smith et Monica Hérnandez.
